HG1-Lytle at Hazelwood Green: Construction Update

1
Construction is progressing at HG1–Lytle, a new five-story, 50-unit mixed-income, mixed-use community located on Lytle Street at Hazelwood Green in Pittsburgh’s Hazelwood neighborhood.

The development will be the first housing community built at Hazelwood Green, a 178-acre redevelopment of the former Hazelwood Coke Works site that is being transformed into a cutting-edge green innovation district. HG1–Lytle represents an important milestone in bringing residential life to the broader mixed-use vision for the site.

Project Overview
HG1–Lytle will provide a mix of housing opportunities designed to support the surrounding community and expand access to affordable housing in Pittsburgh. Of the 50 units planned, 40 will be affordable to households earning 60% or less of the Area Median Income (AMI).

The project also includes a unique partnership with Pittsburgh Scholar House, a nonprofit organization that provides housing and supportive services to single parents pursuing higher education. As part of this collaboration, 13 units will be reserved for participants in the Scholar House program, helping residents build long-term stability while continuing their academic journeys.

The development team includes TREK Development and PWWG Architects.

Current Construction Progress
The project has recently reached several important construction milestones:
•    Framing is complete
•    Preparation is underway for window installation
•    Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) rough-ins are starting

As these phases progress, the building will continue to take shape and move closer to becoming the first residential community within the transformative Hazelwood Green development.

Mistick Construction is proud to contribute to this impactful project and help bring new housing opportunities to one of Pittsburgh’s most significant redevelopment efforts.
