Slippery Rock University Residence Halls

Slippery Rock University's new residence halls house 1390 students. This $110 million project required a re-visioning of the old "college dormitory." In cooperation with the University's vision, Mistick Construction built these residence halls which offer students all the comforts of home.

The layout of the residence halls includes a variety of room types, including single, double, and quad occupancy, in addition to suites with kitchens, recreation rooms, group meeting rooms, "theme" rooms, and large kitchens with tables that can be accessed by all students. Also, students no longer must share a bathroom with 20 or 30 other students -- in these halls, there are no more than 2 students for every bathroom.

Among numerous other unique features, the new SRU halls include keyless security systems in each building, laundry facilities on every floor, energy efficient lights, individual unit temperature controls, and handicapped accessible rooms with lower counters and easily accessible showers.
