The Commons at North Aiken is an independent senior living apartment facility designed to meet the needs of seniors and individuals with disabilities. The apartment is a three story masonry block precast floor structure with 66 apartment units and a separate manager’s apartment unit. In addition, The Commons offers five duplex wood frame, single level bungalows.
The Commons at North Aiken offers 62 newly constructed one-bedroom apartments and 14 two bedroom cottages designed to serve physically independent senior citizens. In addition, the facility offers a number of apartment units that are fully accessible for persons with disabilities.
North Aiken features ample common space, with features such as a main dining room, full commercial kitchen, living room space, secure and landscaped grounds, a courtyard and porches, and laundry rooms on each floor. The Commons is one of the first public housing based supportive care facilities in the nation.
